We’re Ashley and Jacob, the founders of CloudBrew. We’re starting this blog because we believe the people running Britain’s small and medium-sized businesses deserve better from their technology.
We’re not marketers or salespeople. We’re engineers. For years, we’ve been building and managing software systems. And from our base here in Manchester, we’ve seen the same story play out time and time again. We’ve watched brilliant business owners, get bogged down by technology that was supposed to help them. They were wrestling with clunky, outdated systems, paying for software that didn’t quite fit, and spending more time fighting digital fires than focusing on growth.
It felt like the technology was running the business, not the other way around. We knew there had to be a better way. So, we started CloudBrew.
Our goal wasn’t just to build software, it was to build partnerships. We wanted to create a company that offers the kind of personal, expert guidance that we felt was missing. A place where you can talk directly to the people who are actually building your solution.
This blog is an extension of that mission. We’re not going to fill these pages with incomprehensible jargon or sales pitches. Our commitment is to demystify the technology that powers a modern business and to provide clear, actionable advice that you can use.
We understand the pressures you face. The current climate for UK businesses is tough, with rising costs, fierce competition, and a constant pressure to "digitally transform." Technology is often presented as a magic bullet, but without a clear strategy, it can easily become just another source of stress and expense.
This blog is our place to cut through the noise. We’ll be tackling the critical questions that every business owner needs to ask about their technology, such as:
We’ll explore the pros and cons of off-the-shelf software versus building a custom solution, we’ll show you how to prepare your business for the future of AI, and we’ll share insights from our own experience helping businesses solve these very problems.
At the heart of CloudBrew is a simple philosophy: we want to be your technology partner, not just another vendor. A vendor sells you a product and moves on, a partner that invests in your success and is there for the long haul.
That means we take the time to understand your business inside and out. It means we bring our expertise to the table to help you build a solution that is robust, secure, and genuinely future-proof. And it means we’re always just a phone call away.
This blog is the start of a conversation. We want it to be a valuable resource for the entire UK SME community. So please, read on and if anything we say resonates with you, don’t hesitate to reach out.
We’re excited to have you here. Let’s get to work.
All the best,
Ashley & Jacob Co-Founders, CloudBrew
