At CloudBrew, our day job is building custom software. We work with brilliant business owners across the UK, diving deep into their operations to build cloud solutions and integrations that solve their unique challenges. It’s the core of what we do. But the most important part of our job isn’t actually writing code. It’s listening.
In nearly every initial conversation, we hear about the real-world pressures you face. The struggle to manage rising costs, the fight to stay competitive, and the constant feeling of being stretched too thin. We talk about how custom software can automate tasks to free up your team or how integrated systems can give you a clearer view of your business.
But through hundreds of these conversations, we started noticing a different problem. It was a recurring frustration that had nothing to do with the software we were building, but everything to do with the challenges of running a small business.
It was the problem of legal documents.
Time and again, a founder would mention in passing the headache of getting a simple contract sorted. They needed a service agreement for a new client, a contractor agreement for a freelancer, or a non-disclosure agreement to protect an idea. And they were always stuck in the same impossible position.
Do you go to a solicitor and face a bill for hundreds or even thousands of pounds, an expense that feels painful when you are trying to keep costs down? Or do you take a risk on a free template from a random website, crossing your fingers that it’s legally sound and actually protects your business?
It’s a terrible choice to have to make. On one hand, you have a high cost. On the other, a high risk. For a small business, neither feels right. We saw this dilemma creating a barrier, slowing businesses down and adding another source of stress to the pile.
As engineers, our instinct is to solve problems. And this was a problem that we just couldn't leave alone. We saw so many smart, ambitious business owners being held back by this one, persistent hurdle.
So, we decided to build a solution.
Today, we’re incredibly excited to introduce you to QuickTerms, a new product we have built from the ground up.
QuickTerms is a tool designed to help UK freelancers and small businesses create legal documents through a simple, guided process. It’s our answer to the problem we heard so many of you describe. It’s a way to get the foundational legal documents you need without the high cost of a lawyer or the high risk of a generic template.
This might seem like a strange move for a custom software company. But for us, it makes perfect sense. This project is a natural extension of our core mission at CloudBrew: to empower SMEs and remove the barriers that stand in the way of your success.
We approached this challenge the same way we approach every client project.
First, we listened. Then, we applied our core engineering principles to build a solution you can trust. This project was a perfect opportunity to put our philosophy into practice.
With QuickTerms, you can create essential documents like:
To be crystal clear, our mission at CloudBrew remains the same. We are dedicated to building powerful, scalable, and secure custom software for our clients. That is our passion and our primary focus.
Think of QuickTerms not as a change in direction, but as a sister project born from the same values. We are incredibly proud of it, and we believe it delivers on our promise to be a true partner to UK businesses.
As a reader of this blog, you are part of our community. We would be thrilled for you to be among the first to see what we've built. We created QuickTerms for businesses just like yours.
Please take a moment to explore the new site, and we would genuinely love to hear any feedback you have.
